Three – day kayak excursion on Thassos island

Thassos is among the biggest islands of Greece. With almost an alpine look, its peaks are at 1200m. height, its coastline is around 100km. Its aromas of pine, fir and oak can be felt from afar, on its coast one can see olive groves, almonds and morus trees. There are lots of beaches for everyone’s tastes – ranging from the ones with bars and other extras up to calm, serene ones. There are bays with steep cliffs and underwater caves. Looking for an awesome adventure? This is the place!

Difficulty level: for beginners and children. No preliminary training needed.

Day 1: Departure at 11p.m. from the meeting point in Varna. Duration of trip – 7 – 8 hours, with short breaks. In the morning we are in Keramoti. From there we go directly to the island, by ferry. Once there, we go to the camp site. In the afternoon, we do rowing exercises close to the camp. After that, we return to the camp to plan our next day’s activities and spend the night in tents or trailers.

Day 2: A cup of morning coffee. We row past the island, and, if weather permits, visit caves and beaches. On these beaches, we can go diving to enjoy the underwater world. We spend the night in the camp.

Day 3: Our Thassos kayak adventure continues until evening, when we get things packed and leave for Varna. Approximate time of arrival – 4-5 a.m.
